Vision
Tim's vision for Bedford-Wentworth and its place in the greater Halifax communitySustainable, Smart Development for Bedford-Wentworth and HRM
However, we must ensure that it is sustainable and smart development. This is what I have endeavoured to support and will continue to support. Smart development is well planned, includes significant public consultation and impact, is respectful of the surrounding community, and must be linked to improvements in transportation and public transportation. I am pleased to have supported many examples of this kind of development. However, I have also been successful in getting Council to put a number of large projects on hold until such time as transportation and public transportation improvements are in place in our community.
Vision and Objectives for HRM:
Fiscal discipline and creativity to accomplish these objectives. This means working with other orders of government, developers, residents, user groups and partners to set priorities and to source funding opportunities to improve our facilities and infrastructure.
A diverse, welcoming, and inclusive HRM workplace and municipality.
More affordable housing units by working with developers, implementing our new policies, and by receiving provincial approval for HRM to implement “inclusionary zoning”.
Fast, Frequent and Reliable Transit.
The implementation of the Bedford Highway Functional Plan.
More speed and traffic calming projects throughout residential areas of HRM.
Vision and Objectives Bedford – Wentworth

More speed and traffic calmed residential streets in our District.
In the longer term, and in response to the approved Facilities Master Plan and the approved HRM Aquatic Strategy, our District will require a pool. I will work to source opportunities to partner with others to bring an indoor pool to our District. These approved plans listed above recognized that it will be required in the future, due to our projected growth.
