District 16 residents,
I hope all are well enjoying your summer, so far.
We had a busy day at Regional Council this past week, that included several important and interesting presentations and reports. HRM and I also shared some updates on social media last week on service and program re-starts, as well as some maintenance and improvements in our community.
Senator Wanda Thomas Bernard made a presentation to Regional Council on racism and Creating Sustainable Change for Our Community. You can access the PowerPoint overview of her presentation via the link below.

Wendy Luther, president of the Halifax Partnership, also presented to Regional Council. She presented an update on the HRM COVID-19 Economic Recovery Plan. Her PowerPoint overview can be accessed via the link below.

Glen Moir rocks!
Folks driving on Hammonds Plains Rd near Doyle St might notice something new in the public green space. Yes, it is a rock! However, soon it will be a rock with a Glen Moir Community sign on it.
HRM, area resident Steve Warburton, and Dexter Construction have been collaborating on this for quite a while and it has almost come to fruition.
Stay tuned!

In response to concerns from a number of local residents, I am pleased to report that the stairs from Heffler to Landsburg were rebuilt. Many thanks to HRM Parks!

Walkers and cyclists might notice that the paved pathway between Shore Dr and Waterfront Dr (and ultimately DeWolf Park) received some significant trimming last week. This was done to improve access and also to accommodate social distancing.
And speaking of DeWolf Park, I would appreciate receiving your feedback on the new black metal benches that are being tested and piloted in the Park.
As always, I appreciate and welcome your questions and suggestions. Have a good week!
Tim
