This work typically involves installation of a concrete pad between the sidewalk and the curb, or behind the sidewalk. Where no sidewalk exists, a concrete pad with a pedestrian ramp to the street will be installed, or the shoulder of the road may receive an asphalt pad.
We expect work to commence in the coming weeks and is anticipated to be complete by the end of this construction season”.
Hazardous Waste
“Effective Saturday, September 12th, the Household Special Waste (HSW) depot located at 20 Horseshoe Drive, Bayer Lake will reopen for regular operations with COVID-19 precautions in place. The depot will be open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (except holiday weekends). Program information, including an updated fall schedule can be accessed via the following link: https://www.halifax.ca/home-property/garbage-recycling-green-cart/household-special-waste
The CFC Removal Program will also resume beginning on Thursday, October 1st, and 311 will begin receiving service requests starting September 28th. This service is provided for curbside customers and consists of removing refrigerant gas (CFCs) such that appliances (e.g., refrigerators) can be safely collected as part of the curbside collection program. As a COVID-19 precaution, residents will be asked to place appliances outdoors such that they can be accessed by the CFC removal contractor. Program information can be accessed via the following link: https://www.halifax.ca/home-property/garbage-recycling-green-cart/request-residential-refrigerant-removal.
Both the operation of the HSW Depot and CFC Removal Program had been suspended due to COVID-19 and budget reductions”.
Have a good weekend and please let me know if you have questions or ideas!
Tim
